The MAC Spring 2009 Cohousing Tour.

Mid Atlantic Cohousing (MAC) is sponsoring a Spring Cohousing Tour of six MAC member communities in the metropolitan Washington, DC area.

Join us on a comfortable tour bus with knowledgeable guides while we tour Takoma Village, Liberty Village, Catoctin Creek Village, EcoVillage, Chalk Farm, Blueberry Hill, and back to Takoma Village.

Residents of each of these communities will lead an on-site visit. Members of Hundred Fold Farm (near Gettysburg, PA) will be giving a talk about their community. Join us for an exciting day of real-life examples of neighborhood choices from urban, to suburban, to rural.
You must be 18 or older to be on the bus .

Costs: $85 per person.

Date: Saturday, May 16th, 2008, starting at 9am, ending around 6pm.

Starting/Ending Location: tour starts and ends at Takoma Village, near the Takoma Park Metro station. See Directions below.

Food: Included are morning coffee and tea, a buffet lunch around noon, and late afternoon snacks. You will be asked for food allergies after your registration is received.

Directions to Takoma Village Cohousing

ORIENTATION: The District is diamond shaped. We are located almost at the top of the
diamond just inside the District line at the DC/MD boundary. We border Takoma Park
Maryland.

We are in the middle of the block bounded by Blair Road on the East; 4th St. on the West; Aspen
on the South and Butternut on the North. The Historic Takoma Theatre is on our North side on
the corner of 4th and Butternut.

We are 1.5 blocks South of the Takoma metro.

Please enter the community through the 4th St. entrance.

The parking situation here is difficult. There is NO available parking in our lot. All our parking
spaces are assigned. There is some parking available on the street and at the metro parking lot.
We STRONGLY urge you to come by metro or carpool.

By Metro: exit the metro station through the main gates. Turn around and walk under the RR overpass to the light at 4th, Cedar and Blair Road. Make a L onto 4th Street so the pocket park is on your L and the Takoma Station Jazz Club is on your R. Walk 1.5 blocks S on 4th to Takoma Village crossing Butternut St.

FROM POINTS NORTH, WEST AND EAST: I 66 COMING EAST; I 270 COMING SOUTH;
I 495 SOUTH FROM BALTIMORE; RT. 50 WEST FROM ANNAPOLIS

From all the above directions please take I 495 toward Silver Spring. Exit Georgia Avenue
South. Stay on GA Avenue through "downtown" Silver Spring. Cross Colesville Road. Go
through the intersection at 410 East-West Highway. Continue South through intersection at Blair
Road (which is not marked but which is the intersection after East-West Highway.) Start
looking for Butternut. Make a L on Butternut. Go East on Butternut to 4th St. NW. Make a
right. Find parking wherever you can. Most of the area is restricted to neighborhood parking but is unrestricted on weekends and after 6:30 p.m.

Suggest you try finding parking close to TVC on 4th, Butternut or Aspen.

Parking is FREE at metro stations on weekends and Federal holidays.

IF YOU WISH TO PARK AT THE TAKOMA METRO: follow directions above making the L
On to Butternut. Make L onto Piney Branch. Stay on Piney Branch to Eastern Avenue. Make
Right. Go thru Stop Sign. Make a Right turn into the metro parking lot. After parking your car
walk to the front entrance of the metro. Walk under the RR overpass to 4th St. Make L onto 4th St. Walk 1.5 block S
on 4th st. to TVC.

FROM POINTS SOUTH: ALEXANDRIA, ARLINGTON, ETC.
